Sales of small flats priced below HK$2m soared in northern New Territories last week as bargain-hunters were attracted by prices that had lagged gains in more centrally located districts, agents said.

'We have seen blistering growth for units below HK$2m,' said Angus Hui Wai-pong, a sales director at Centaline Property Agency.

In Fanling, sales at the Flora Plaza development jumped to 64 so far this month, from 34 in December, while at Avon Park sales doubled from 15 to 30, Hui said.
