Supermarket chains forced to hone their juggling skills

It’s official: the supermarket space race is finally over. Figures published by the Local Data Company (LDC) last month showed the number of stores operated by the ‘big four’ grocery chains fell in 2016 - the first such decline since the LDC started tracking them in 2008.
