Eco champion Wyatt turns editor for a day
Guest editor Adrian Wyatt visited Property Week headquarters on Monday to see this week’s issue to press
I’m not often lost for words,” said the Quintain chief executive as the Property Week team welcomed him into the ninth-floor boardroom of our Blackfriars Bridge headquarters.
After months of planning, Wyatt was here to spend the day editing this special Eco Issue of Property Week.
However, our guest editor, and top regeneration developer through Quintain at London’s Greenwich and Wembley, was soon in his stride.
“Climate change is the most critical factor affecting our species,” he said, as he solemnly addressed the editorial team, before reeling off chilling facts and figures on carbon emissions, global warming and, most importantly, how the property industry is being forced by occupiers and investors to embrace sustainable business practices.
After a news conference, Wyatt took the editor’s hot seat to inspect the page proofs of articles for this issue.
He had come up with the ideas earlier in the year (email, below) and was pleased with the way Property Week writers, sub-editors and designers had executed them.
Then it was off to lunch at the Oxo Tower Brasserie with editor-in-chief Giles Barrie. Over kir royal, Harvey Nichols sauvignon blanc and grappa, they turned to discussing Quintain’s takeover this month of Nigel Kempner’s Grafton Partners.
