AAIM chief executive Robert Whitton and Essex-based developer Daren Burney’s ROM Capital Group has signed a 50-year lease with Everton Football Club for a £17m training ground at Halewood, Knowsley.

The training ground, which has just been completed, includes 10 grass pitches, a full-size synthetic pitch, physiotherapy and medical centre, and an academy for youth team players.

Whitton and Burney bought the land from Everton Football Club in 2005 to develop the training facilities.
