Land Securities has submitted a planning application to Dartford Borough Council for Station Quarter South, the second phase of its development at Ebbsfleet in Kent Thameside

LandSecs plans a 20 acre (8 ha) park with up to 1,300 homes, including 260 affordable units, restaurants, hotels, shops, bars, cafes and community venues and offices. Subject to planning approval, LandSecs hopes to begin work on the scheme in 2007.

The 378 acre (153 ha) Ebbsfleet site is jointly owned by LandSecs and Lafarge Cement. Station Quarter South is close to Ebbsfleet International Station.

LandSecs development director Adam Cunnington said: ‘Nearly two-thirds of those who provided feedback on Station Quarter South thought the regeneration would have a positive impact on both the new and existing community through the provision of new facilities, homes and employment opportunities.’
