Hell to play for
“Hell is other people.”
That was the misanthropic phrase that drew property folk to London’s Trafalgar Studios recently to witness Jean-Paul Sartre’s play about living in hell, which has not been performed in the capital for decades.
Huis Clos, or “No Exit”, is set in the round, in a single dingy, locked room without windows.
United House sponsored the event, but the developer and contractor was seemingly denied the chance of giving the hellish pit a refurb. Despite this, it was packed to the rafters.
