GE Real Estate this morning announced Mike Rowan as its new UK managing director

Mike Rowan, a GE Real Estate employee in the US, will take over from Alec Burger, who has transferred to the US to lead GE Real Estate’s North American lending division.

Rowan, who in the US led GE Real Estate’s specialized industries division, will be responsible for overseeing all UK operations and joins at a time when the UK team has been extremely active. It has recently completed the acquisitions of the famous Ark building in London’s Hammersmith and the Manchester Arena, taking its equity and mezzanine debt spending over the last two years to £2bn.

Rowan began his career at GE Real Estate in the early 1980s. He then spent seven years with ITT Real Estate Service and six years with Heller Financial Real Estate Group before rejoining GE Real Estate after its acquisition of Heller in 2001.
