JetBlue Airways, the biggest carrier at New York’s Kennedy Airport, will keep its headquarters in the city after studying whether to relocate to Orlando, Florida, two people with knowledge of the talks said.

JetBlue chose to stay after determining that only about half its employees would be willing to move, said one of the people, who requested anonymity because the details haven’t been announced. Chief executive officer Dave Barger called Florida officials today with the news, that person said.

The decision caps more than a yearlong review of possible new homes and ensures that New York, the largest US aviation market, retains the headquarters of the seventh-biggest domestic airline. JetBlue is the only carrier among the top 10 by traffic that is based in the northeastern US.
