Derbyshire-based developer Norseman Investments has unveiled plans for a £150m office development opposite the Westfield Derby shopping centre.

The city centre development will provide 400,000 sq ft of offices on three acres between Siddals Road and Copeland Street.

The announcement follows the company buying the site from car dealer Speeds.

Largest ever office

The development will be the largest office development built in the city.

The offices will be developed across six buildings ranging in height from six to nine storeys.

The scheme, designed by London architects TP Bennett, will aim for a BREEAM rating of ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’.

A planning application for the scheme is expected to be submitted in early September.

If permission is granted work is expected to start in early 2009 with completion in early 2011.

Norseman was advised by Colliers CRE and Derby-based Salloway.
