Peel Holdings has submitted a planning application for a hotel near Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport.

Peel, which also owns the airport, wants to build a 101 bed hotel on Speke Hall Avenue. It will be built on a 1.4 acre site and operated by Premier Inn. It is expected to cost around £4.5m to develop.

The hotel will have a bar and restaurant, and will bring 25 full time and 40 new part time jobs to the area.

Work is due to start on site later this year, subject to planning, and the hotel will open in autumn 2008.
