Quintain Estates and Morley Fund Management have secured a development agreement from the South West of England Development Agency (SWRDA) to develop a £200m science and technology park in Bristol.

The Quantum Property Partnership, the 50:50 joint venture between Quintain and Morley, has already won outline planning consent for the SPark scheme, which will be developed on 22-ha of land near owned by SWRDA and the Universities of Bristol, Bath and the West of England.

Quantum plans to develop up to 828,828 sq ft (77,000 sq m) of science and technology related space at the park, which is located between the M4 and Avon ring road at Emerson’s Green.

It is expected to submit a detailed planning application early next year, with a view to beginning construction work in autumn 2007.

Tonianne Dwyer, head of Quintain’s fund management division, said: ‘The signing of the Spark agreement represents an important part in the development of the Quantum Fund. The project will transform the provision of science and technology companies in the Bristol area.’
