Regeneration company Urban Splash has teamed up with Birmingham City Council for a new development in the city centre.

The joint venture plans to redevelop three tower blocks on the Birchfield Estate in Perry Barr into a residential development comprising 270 flats. It forms part of a wider regeneration programme in the Birchfield area. The council said it had almost completed the relocation of the residents in the towers.

Councillor John Lines, cabinet member for housing, said it selected Urban Splash because of its track record in other large projects in Birmingham including Fort Dunlop and Rotunda.
