Christmas is the season for many outlandish antics but it was still a surprise to see Capco investment director Gary Yardley perched on the back of a Vespa with German stand-up comedian Henning Wehn at the end of the Movers & Shakers annual dinner.
Before riding off into the sunset towards Capco’s recently opened Lillie Square development, Yardley donated close to £5,000 to charity LandAid for the privilege of ‘honking with Henning’.
During the evening at The Dorchester last week, Faithful+Gould’s Matthew Goodwin was crowned Mover & Shaker of the Year.
And an array of raffle prizes were won, including a fly-fishing trip with Movers & Shakers chair David Jennings next May, won by Steve Edge of Steve Edge Design and Steven Scates of SJS Law.
With Edge and Scates contributing towards a cheque for more than £19,000 presented to LandAid chair Liz Peace at the end of the night, they really were pretty fly for some white guys.
