Twin towers for La Défense
The €320m Hermitage Plaza Towers in the La Défense business district of Paris have been given planning consent.
The twin towers (pictured), designed by Lord Foster, will comprise offices, a shopping mall, luxury flats, a five-star hotel, two spas, an art gallery and several restaurants and “sky bars”. The towers’ 2 ha base will have pedestrian alleys lined with shops, restaurants and cafes.
Developer Hermitage Group will begin construction next week with the removal of asbestos from the site.
CEO Emin Iskenderov said: “This project demonstrates our and the local authority’s desire to turn La Défense into a model of ecological and social diversity, but also a lively place to spend evenings and weekends.”
