New ULI chief says people must get 'bang for their membership buck' (video)

New Urban Land Insitute UK chairman Jos Short says the current economic situation means members will want to see a return on their investment.
Short, founder and chief investment officer of Internos Real Investors, has returned to the ULI as UK District Council chairman and told PWTV: 'It will be harder. There's a lot of pressure on P&L, staff numbers, balance sheets so people feel they've got to get the bang for their buck or the effort for their sterling.'
Short, who previously worked as chief executive of merchant banking at Pramerica Real Estate Investors Europe, replaces Stephen Barter, who now works in the Middle East as head of real estate investment, The First Investor, Qatar.
Short recently told Property Week: ‘I join the Council at a challenging time and will build on the strong foundations set by Stephen Barter. Relationships and knowledge are key in this new world. ULI delivers unbiased, timely and thought provoking information on both a national and international level and connects the best minds from the industry.’
William Kistler, president of ULI Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: ‘Short’s experience will prove invaluable during these difficult times.’
