Serviced offices are inaccessible to many SMEs

Crownplace SME workplace data

Serviced office space hubs are often inaccessible for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to new research from Crown Workspace that suggests there is a ‘missed middle’ market for occupiers.

Although specially designed serviced offices are increasing in popularity amongst the creative and technology sectors, more than 20% of SME business owners interviewed for the survey claim that start-up offices are not accessible to them.

“SMEs, the lifeblood of the UK economy are being held back by their office environments and design,” the report states. “Organisations are mindful of growing their workforce and increasing the size of their operation, but the space in which they operate is often stunting growth and failing them when it comes to attracting and retaining the best talent.”
