Investor Cording Real Estate Group has appointed Landsec’s Paul Waggott as fund financial controller for its UK private rented sector (PRS) team following the launch of its new £400m UK residential fund.
The fund, which launched last week with £100m in equity commitments from German institutional investors and Cording expects to raise another £150m from investors across Europe, will be a key part of Waggott’s remit. Reporting to finance director Philip Gittins, he will work in Cording’s UK finance team alongside the commercial and residential investment management teams.
Prior to joining Cording, Waggott was a commercial finance manager at Landsec, where his responsibilities included financial ownership of a £3bn London property portfolio. He began his career with Ernst & Young in Cape Town before transferring to their London office as an audit executive.
Gittins said: “Paul’s track record and experience in the profession are second to none and we are thrilled to have him on board to support our ever-growing PRS platform and our commercial real estate team at Cording.”
