Leading property deal makers targeted a different type of prize at the second annual Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot.
Hosted by James Andrew International and GM Real Estate, the second annual Charity Clay Pigeon Shoot brought together 13 teams of property hotshots to raise money for charity Chickenshed.
Industry heavyweights Harvey Soning and Tony Gibbon organised the fundraiser, on 30 September at the Royal Berkshire Shooting School, and took to the course with their respective teams of four shooters. After a talk through the 10 stands from school founder Dylan Williams, teams, including ‘celebrity shooter’ and Chickenshed supporter Jason Isaacs (aka Harry Potter’s Lucius Malfoy), were dispatched to take aim.
Starting on the hardest quad trap stand, the Property Week team took time to get their eye in and, despite rounding off with a 90% strike rate in the double trap, rolled home with the title of ‘clay conservationists’ in 13th place.
At the business end of the contest, a near-perfect round of 92 from captain and ‘top gun’ Chris Bliss, estate director at Liverpool ONE, gave ‘Blissfully Happy’ the victory.
The biggest winner, however, was Chickenshed, which received more than £47,000 towards its work bringing young people from all social and economic backgrounds, races and abilities together to study creatively.
“The guns enjoyed a morning’s shooting in glorious weather before entertainment and a hugely successful auction,” says Soning. “We were pleased to support such a unique charity and hope to grow the event next year.”
Chickenshed’s events director Lydie Horgan adds: “It was a truly fun-filled day and we were so humbled by the generosity and support we received from all the teams.”
