Bellway’s interim profit dips, but revenue rises as a result of record sales

Housebuilding giant Bellway was hit by a 4% fall in pre-tax profit during the first half of its financial year, despite an 11.6% bump in revenue and the completion of a record number of sales during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

For the six months to the end of January pre-tax profit shrunk to £280.2m from £291.8m during the same period a year earlier, while revenue climbed to £1.7bn from £1.5bn.
