Connells takes aim at Countrywide with £82m bid

Troubled estate agent group Countrywide is in talks with rivals Connells over a potential takeover that would value the company at more than £82m.

The firm told investors this morning that it had received an initial offer of 250p per share from Connells, well above its closing price of 145p last week.
