Brexit

The FTSE 100 closed eight points down to end Thursday as the markets reacted negatively to the government’s ‘backstop’ plan for trade with European Union after Brexit.

After the trading day started with a technical glitch, the UK’s premier share index closed down by 0.1% at 7,704. The FTSE 250 was also lower, off 16.69 at 21,154.
