Bank lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK property sector has fallen 9% in the last year from £13.9bn to £12.7bn, figures from the Bank of England have shown.
Lending to SMEs in the real estate sector fell significantly quicker than the level of overall lending to UK small businesses, which dropped 2% from £58.2bn in 2016-17 to £57bn in 2017-18.
