Saudi Ambassador pours cold water on Kingdom’s backing for Candy’s Capco bid

The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to the UK has dealt a huge blow to Nick Candy’s ambitions to bid for Earls Court and Covent Garden owner Capital & Counites (Capco) by denying any possible bid has the backing of the Kingdom’s Public Investment fund.

In response to a letter from campaigners attempting to protect two housing estates on the Earls Court scheme Saudi’s UK ambassador Khalid bin Bandar Al Saud wrote: “I have made enquiries in the Kingdom regarding your assertion that the Saudi Public Investment Fund is part of a consortium led by Candy Ventures.
