We’re working through the Alliance to attract the investment our cities need. This year, there will be a greater focus on how we make our cities more resilient. There is rightly an increasing shift to green infrastructure and we’re working on that in Dundee and through the Alliance.

The Scottish government’s pledge to phase out new petrol and diesel cars by 2032 must be acted upon now. Dundee is at the forefront of sustainability with a proposed integrated energy park combining heat, power and transportation, which requires private investment.

Through the Alliance, we are part of the JIVE2 project funding hydrogen buses in Dundee, hopefully powered by our integrated energy park.

Resolution: Dundee is already a European leader in low-carbon transport initiatives, so my professional resolution is to continue on that journey and share the vital learning with my fellow city leaders through the Scottish Cities Alliance.
