Have you or your business had a standout year in residential real estate despite, or perhaps because of, the Covid pandemic?
Did your business pull off a ground-breaking development or deal in 2020? Have you – or has someone you know – taken disruption and innovation to the next level? Then we want to hear from you. Drum roll, please… the 10th RESI Awards are now open for entries.
For many businesses, the past year has, paradoxically, been far better than expected, thanks to government intervention to bolster housing demand by helping first-time buyers and introducing the stamp duty holiday.
But the sector has also faced many challenges, not least lockdown-related development delays, the rapidly changing needs of residents and home owners and how to make schemes Covid-safe and fit for the post-pandemic future.
Now it is time to recognise and reward all that hard work. To mark the 10th anniversary of the RESI Awards, we have introduced a one-off award for the best residential company of the decade (from 2011 to 2021).
This award is open to companies from across the sector and aims to celebrate outstanding achievement in a decade that started in the depths of the global financial crisis and ended in the depths of the Covid crisis.
We are also introducing another one-off award, for Best Covid Response, and as with the Property Awards and Student Accommodation Awards, we are introducing three new awards to reflect the growing importance of ESG: Climate Crisis Initiative, Social Impact Initiative and Health & Wellbeing Initiative.
These awards underline the way the pandemic has accelerated the ESG agenda and demonstrate that success this year is not just about financial performance but about the way the industry has dealt with the Covid crisis, risen to the climate emergency challenge, become more community focused and looked after its people.
Chasing another record
After the extraordinary year we have had, we are hoping for another record-breaking number of submissions. As ever, we are looking for the best in their fields, not necessarily the biggest.
To that end, we have expanded our roster of judges to include even more C-suite industry figures from across the residential property world and beyond, such as representatives from the Diversity & Inclusion Editorial Advisory Board and our Climate Crisis Challenge campaign.
Those on the judging panels will rigorously assess all those on the shortlist and select winners that truly deserve to be recognised above all others, ensuring the awards maintain their reputation for being the most robust and credible in residential real estate.
So don’t hide your light under a bushel, write off last year or pass up the opportunity to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of your colleagues and peers. Share your stories with us. We want to reward excellence across the whole residential sector.
To find out more about the categories and to enter this year’s RESI Awards, go to resiawards.com. The closing date for entries is 19 July 2021 and, good news, we have extended the period of eligibility by two months from 1 December 2019 to 31 January 2021.
The next important date in the diary is, of course, the awards themselves.
Whether you watch online or dust off the glad rags to attend in person, join us at Grosvenor House, London, on 1 December to celebrate the best of the best in residential property. The full list of judges will be available online shortly.
Good luck!
