Council and M&G’s scheme halted due to retail market woes.
The proposals were for 440,000 sq ft of retail space, 65,000 sq ft of restaurants, cafés and bars and 400 homes.
Last month, Guildford Borough Council decided to review these plans and instead draw up a mainly residential scheme for the site, which is bordered by North Street, Onslow Street and Leapale Road.
