Mia Hunt reports on Medway Council’s plans for a business, tech and manufacturing campus
Medway Council is determined to safeguard the long-term future of the airport in keeping with local views that it should remain operational. While plans for a paved runway and other improvements are in the offing, it has come up with a new plan that will bolster the airport and has the potential to bring scores of new tech businesses to the area.
In September, the council revealed its intention to work up a masterplan for Innovation Park Medway (IPM), a business, tech and manufacturing campus that could deliver up to 1m sq ft of commercial space. So what do its proposals comprise and, if delivered, what could Innovation Park Medway do for the region?
