Christmas is a time to think of those less fortunate, and Metropolis was pleased to see the property sector again stepping up in respect of that motto.

CRASH homelessness

Having raised £17,900 at the industry-wide Wildgoose Chase where Property Week is media partner earlier this year (see images from the Wildgoose Chase here), construction and property industry charity CRASH has brought together a group of its patron companies to help homeless people ahead of Christmas.

CRASH Patron companies including developer Argent, Bauder, Beale & Co, Hanson, Recticel and Reds10 have teamed up to create hundreds of wash bags for homeless people across the UK.

The wash bags contained items such as soap, shower gel and toothpaste and were delivered to 10 homelessness charities that CRASH supports across the UK.

Becky Holt, marketing manager at CRASH, said: ‘‘Whilst we may take cleaning our teeth or having a shower for granted, many homeless people have limited access to this basic human right and dignity. To a person who has nothing receiving a wash bag as a gift has made a huge difference to their Christmas.’’
