Property will always be a hugely competitive industry but it’s rare Metropolis learns of someone picking up a gun in pursuit of glory.

Sandy Walker in action ahead of the Games

Fortunately, the man bearing arms is Cushman & Wakefield surveyor Sandy Walker and he’s doing so because he’s been selected to compete for Scotland at 2018 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane.

Walker, an associate in the residential London markets team has headed to Australia to participate in the pairs and individual Fullbore Target Rifle events at the Games which opened today.

Metropolis is sure that Walker can bring a few transferable skills from hitting targets with Cushmans to hitting targets of up 1,000 yards away with his rifle and having finished third in last year’s test event, he is among the favourites for gold.

He won’t be the only member of the C&W team in Brisbane as senior surveyor in retail asset services James Kyriakides told Metropolis he’s “very proud and excited” to have made the Welsh field hockey squad.

We wish them both the best of luck – let the Games begin.
