Great Portland Estates made a £96m cash offer to buy the Pollen Estate in London’s West End.

GPE had acquired an 11.5% stake in the estate two years previously. If its bid to convince the estate’s 100 beneficiaries had been successful, GPE would have taken control of large swathes of Bond Street and Savile Row.

However, the Pollen Estate rebuffed the offer months later when it stated the estate was not for sale, and that any future sale would be made through the open market.
