Gloucester Heritage Urban Regeneration Company is to bring £1bn of investment to the city over the next ten years

In an announcement made today, the urban regeneration company committed to a programme for the city which will include more than 3000 new homes as well as office, retail and leisure development.

Public sector funding is expected to total £150m, to be provided by South West Regional development Agency, English Partnerships, Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucester City Council.

The regeneration programme will focus around seven key sites in the city: Gloucester Docks, Gloucester Quays, The Railway Triangle, King’s Square, Greyfriars, Blackfriars/Westgate Quay and Canal Corridor.

The regeneration framework for the city was drawn up by specialist planning consultant Terence O’Rourke.
