More than half of private landlords are letting residential properties at below-market rents to keep tenants, according to a report by Allsop and research consultancy BDRC.
Some 59% of landlords surveyed for the Rent Check survey said they were renting out at least one home at a below-market rent to keep a good tenant, as wages stagnate and the cost of living begins to rise. It is the first time Allsop has collected this data.
