The US company is close to exchanging contracts for a 20,000 sq ft site at 66-74 Notting Hill Gate with property developer Enstar Capital.

The store will incorporate Amazon’s “Just Walk Out” technology, a mix of cameras, motion sensors and AI that monitors what shoppers are putting in their baskets and charges them via an app.

Amazon bought US organic grocery chain Whole Foods in 2017 and has been experimenting with various supermarket concepts.
