Applegreen makes €362m Welcome Break acquisition

Welcome Break Oxford

AIM-listed Applegreen has acquired a majority stake in Welcome Break for €362m (£322m) to make it one of the largest motorway services operators in the UK.

Applegreen is the largest petrol station operator in Ireland and this deal adds 24 motorway stops, two trunk road stops and 29 hotels under the Ramada and Days Inn brands in England, Scotland and Wales to its portfolio.
