Asda has unveiled the look of its proposed largest N.I store based Antrim Junction One Retail Park.

The artists impression of the proposed flagship, with 55,000 sq ft of sales space, was revealed to the local community today.

ASDA expects to create around 400 local jobs as part of their plans for the £25m proposed store.

Philip Bartram, Asda property communications manager for the region said: ‘At a time of financial uncertainty, our plans represent a £25m direct investment in Antrim and will generate at least 400 new jobs for local people. We are working closely with the planning service and other agencies to bring this development forward and we are hopeful of a positive decision in the near future.'

Work is expected to start on site in August this year and the store is scheduled to open in 2010.
