Sports Direct has moved to oust all the members of Debenhams board, bar one, and appoint Mike Ashley to an executive role.
In a statement the Sports retailer, which owns a near 30% stake in Debenhams, issued a statement saying that if appointed Ashley would step down from his current roles as a director and chief executive of Sports Direct.
