Asian consortium acquires £2.1bn stake in Global Switch

Singapore Woodlands data centre

A consortium of Asian investors has acquired a 24.99% stake in data centre company Global Switch for £2.1bn before it goes public next year.

The move by Strategic IDC Limited further diversifies Global Switch’s sources of equity capital following investment by Elegant Jubilee, a consortium of institutional and private investors from Asia, in December 2016.

The payment comprises £1.8bn for the shares in Global Switch and a further £300m to Aldersgate Investments.
