Aviva Investors to fund Gravesend shopping centre regeneration

GravesendCGISketch1 (002)

Aviva Investors has signed a deal with Gravesham Borough Council and developer Reef Group to regenerate a shopping centre in Gravesend, in what the council described as a major step in the town’s redevelopment.

Plans for St George’s Centre include a new cinema and restaurants, as well as general modernising improvements.

Aviva’s asset management branch bought the centre with an agreement that the local authority will pay it £1.15m a year over a 50-year lease period, subject to inflation.
