Phase two will see the construction of 379 homes as part of the wider Barking masterplan. The long-term vision is to create a total of 911 homes.

The £346m development, which is set across 10 acres of brownfield industrial land, is due to be completed in 2027.

Work on the first phase of the scheme began in 2018 and is due to deliver 532 homes this summer.

The second phase has been designed by GRID architects.

“Having worked closely with our partners and the local community, we are extremely proud to see the next phase of this emerging area come to fruition,” said Robert Wilkinson, managing director of partnerships East London at Countryside.

John Hughes, group development director at Notting Hill Genesis, added: “We have already seen fantastic progress being made at Fresh Wharf and look forward to welcoming the first residents in the summer.”
