The BBC has retained Lambert Smith Hampton as its supplier of estates management, transaction management and surveying services across its UK property portfolio.
The new contract will begin on 1 May 2007 and will run for three years, with the option to extend for two further years. LSH has held the contract for the last 12 years. The BBC occupies 7m sq ft (650,316 sq m) of property across 500 sites in the UK.
The appointment follows a procurement process that began in July 2006. Six companies were invited to tender in September 2006 and a final shortlist of LSH, Atisreal and Donaldsons was drawn up before Christmas.
Gareth Nugent, procurement programme manager at BBC Workplace, said: ‘Over the duration of the new contract we will be looking for increasingly innovative solutions to the challenges we face in the management of our estate.
‘LSH will be key in helping us secure workplaces that are suitable for the digital age, are flexible and provide maximum value for money.’
