Bangor Marine, a joint venture between developer Karl Group and contractor Farrans, hopes to develop the 13-acre Queen’s Parade project alongside Ards and North Down Council and Northern Ireland’s Department for Communities.

The mixed-use development will comprise of residential units, a hotel, offices, retail units, public realm space and outdoor event space. The joint venture wants to regenerate the area by creating a year-round waterfront destination for Bangor.

“This is a rare project, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to define the town for generations to come,” said Nigel Murray, associate at TODD Architects, the architectural firm which designed the scheme. “At a time when the vitality of our high streets and town centres is of significant concern, these plans provide a template to reinvigorate the town centre through the delivery of a high quality mixed use proposal to secure long-term benefits for Bangor.”
