Camden market in north London could change hands for more than £350m. The Sunday Times

Elliot Bernerd, who owns a 25% stake in the popular alternative shopping and tourist destination, has tabled an indicative offer to buy out his business partners, Richard Caring, the billionaire rag-trade entrepreneur, who also owns 25%, and a private Israeli investor who controls 50%.

The trio are also thought to have received several unsolicited bid approaches from third parties.

Caring bought part of the site for about £40m in January 2005 and is believed then to have offered to Bernerd and the Israeli investor. Construction work has started on a 350,000 sq ft mixed-use development on part of the site, north of Camden Lock bridge.
