BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Management has bought Aberdeen Property Investors Belgium.

The purchase, for an undisclosed sum, gives BNP more than 23.6m sq ft of commercial real estate under management in Belgium.

Aberdeen Property Investors Belgium, previously Catella Property Management, was founded in 1991 and is managed by Bart Van Den Berg and Bruno De Wolf.

Rickard Backlund, CEO of Aberdeen Property Investors, said: ‘Aberdeen Property Investors has grown quickly in the field of property fund and asset management across Europe over the past years.’

Aberdeen’s two biggest purchases were Goodman Property Investors and Degi.

Lauric Leclerc, chief executive officer, will oversee the integration of the new company into the BNP Paribas Real Estate Property Management business line.

BNP Paribas Real Estate has 70 employees in Belgium and is part of BNP Paribas Real Estate.
