Bristol-based property company Urbina and Close Investments have won planning for a 110,000 sq ft development in Bristol city centre.

The joint venture partners will demolish three 1950s buildings on the junction of Union Street, Wine Street and Fairfax Street with 90,000 sq ft of offices and 20,000 sq ft of retail.

The scheme, designed by Stride Treglown, will be close to the new Cabot Circus retail development and Finzel’s Reach, the redevelopment of the former Bristol brewery.

Urbina director James Taylor said that it was a getting the consent was a major step towards replacing the tired, poor quality properties currently on the site with sustainable, modern space.
