A decision on a planned extension to Birmingham Airport has been deferred until the New Year.

Birmingham Airport is seeking to extend its runway by 400m. Local Solihull councillors have said they are minded to approve the plans, but need more negotiations to provide ‘protection and reassurance for local people.’

Birmingham Airport chief executive Paul Kehoe said: ‘Although it is disappointing that we did not get an approval, the airport will continue the dialogue with Solihull Council so that a positive decision can be made early in the New Year.’
