Brunswick Developments Group has won planning permission for its residential-led £235m Brighton Marina scheme
The Brighton-based developer will build 853 flats, including an affordable quota of 40%, and 28,000 sq ft (2,601 sq m) of commercial space. The scheme will also feature a 40-storey tower with a public viewing gallery and a swing bridge.
The application was approved by nine votes to three, subject to a section 106 agreement, by the planning applications subcommittee of Brighton and Hove City Council on Friday.
The council’s decision to permit planning follows last November’s rejection of Brunswick’s plans for the site.
Andrew Goodall, managing director at Brunswick, said: ‘We welcome this decision, which reflects the overwhelming support we have received for the new application.’
