A survey of business leaders’ attitudes to London has found that more than half said poor quality of life, cost of living and inferior transport in the capital meant they would look at other emerging cities in which to invest, work and live.

The YouGovStone survey of 3,000 business leaders was carried out for a report backed by UK Trade and Investment, the Whitehall quango that helps companies with international trade. It also found that 80% of business leaders thought London was vital for delivering economic revival for the rest of the UK.
