Carlyle Group has completed the purchase of the TDC headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, bringing the private equity group’s total investment in the Nordic region to €885m (£598m)

The purchase of the 528,512 sq ft office building, brings the number of investments made by Carlyle since entering the Nordic region to five.

The TDC headquarters features 19 buildings in the Norregade area of Copenhagen. TDC is expected to vacate the offices in April 2009 when Carlyle will refurbish it.

Thomas Lindstrom, managing director at Carlyle, said: ‘The TDC headquarters is a trophy asset right in the centre of Copenhagen.

'We are very positive about the outlook for the Copenhagen office market, where vacancy has dropped due to demand from the business service and public sectors, following sustained economic growth in 2007.’
