CBRE has expanded its operational real estate (OPRE) team with three new hires.

Oliver Close will work as a leading advisor in the self-storage sector. Prior to the role, Close spent three decades at Cushman & Wakefield.

Alister McCutchion, who joins from JLL’s hotels advisory team, will lead the UK OPRE valuation and consulting teams.

Meanwhile, Phil Schmid will join CBRE’s retirement living business and lead the healthcare transaction team. Schmid previously was a director at JLL.

“We are seeing many traditional investors pivoting into the operational classes, which is driving volumes and pricing across the markets,” David Batchelor, managing director of CBRE OPRE. “We are committed to growing the services we offer our clients across operational real estate and are delighted to announce leadership to extend our reach.”
