Centros’s new scheme ‘arc’ has signed Paperchase, Clarks and Crew Clothing.

Paperchase will take a 2,386 sq ft unit, while shoe shop, Clarks has secured a 2,084 sq ft space looking onto the new public square.

Crew Clothing, which announced it was taking a unit earlier this year, has now committed to a bigger store in the scheme, taking 1,393 sq ft of space.

The mixed-use scheme, which will open in march 2009, will create 265,000 sq ft of retail accommodation to extend Bury St Edmunds’ Town Centre.

Only one of the main units is yet to be pre-let.

David Lewis, associate director for Centros, said: 'All bar one of the main units have now been pre-let, and we’re now targeting high fashion and niche retailers for the smaller units, as well as local and regional independents.

‘Debenhams is already fitting out its department store, and its highly distinctive, curved building is destined to give this market town a unique retail landmark.’

Other retailers already signed up include H&M, Next, Top Shop/TopMan, New Look, River Island, Wallis, Monsoon, Accessorize, Peacocks, Fat Face, Vodafone, Costa, HMV and Waterstones.

More announcements are expected in the coming weeks with six further agreements with solicitors.

Centros’s retail letting agents are Jones Lang LaSalle, Knight Frank, and Mason & Partners.
